Green Foodservice Solutions, an innovative consulting partner to the foodservice industry proudly announces the opening of its flagship café; Java Blues, Beans With a Beat.   Java Blues, located in the Midtown/Lenox area offers a relaxed and inviting place for friends to catch up over a fresh cup of coffee and enjoy a great meal.  Led by co-owner Chris Leavitt, Java Blues is an authentic, bluesy coffee cafe serving Hot Java and Great Eats. “We have created the freshest, most flavorful coffee in town using 100% natural coffee beans custom roasted in small batches by our certified fair trade roaster.  Our menu will satisfy your culinary desires with fresh baked goods, artisan sandwiches, soups, salads and gourmet pizzas.  This Java Blues location features our latest advancements in cooking technology that enable us to create exceptional food that not only tastes great but is better for our guests with higher nutritional and lower fat content.  Our focus on environmental responsibility starts with the energy efficiency of our cooking platform and extends through everything we do, such as using compostable serving ware. ” says Mr. Leavitt.
With live music as a fixture on the weekend menu, Java Blues retained audio guru Tylon Williams of ADS Home Technologies to design their sound system.  He also tapped Ollie Patterson of Atmosphere to consult with ADS to incorporate musician friendly features. Ollie Patterson comments, “Chris’ decision to consider the needs of musicians prior to installing his sound system was absolutely brilliant.  It affords an unprecedented win-win opportunity for all parties; providing the Java Blues staff with the security they need while creating an ideal platform for musicians.   This one move alone eliminated the need for PA systems, saves valuable floor space for the café, resulting in a more enjoyable listening experience for the guest”.

Live music kicks off every Friday and Saturday night starting this September. Initially, the hot sounds of R&B, jazz and bluesy backgrounds courtesy of Atmosphere will enliven meals and conversation in the new venture. The line-up consists of solo artists Gene Richards on Tenor Sax, Reginald Harris on Alto Sax, Ed Acquesta on Guitar/Vocals, and Ollie Patterson on Alto Sax.
