Tae McKenzie, National Fashion Icon is featured in Renee Greenstein’s “Women With Control”. McKenzie has been disabled since 2011 after several massive strokes. Greenstein is a QVC designer and past fit model. she is also a renowned global fashion designer, is the founder of Women with Control® and ATTITUDES by Renee®, two of the best-selling fashion lines on QVC USA, UK & Japan.
McKenzie was thrilled to be featured in the work. “Renee is very friendly, a class act, and she loves to dance” she said in our interview. Fashion is all about having fun according to McKenzie. Her story was also featured on CNN.

“Being a disabled model is not an easy thing. I’ve constantly had to prove myself in this industry, and I’m so glad that I have the support of my family and friends. If you’re disabled and want to be a model, don’t give up.”
It takes courage for anyone just starting out as a model to walk into an audition that’s already full of gorgeous models who are already established. “For me it was even more difficult because in addition to being new to modeling in the past I also have a disability. People often tell me it took guts just to show up at the audition, but for me walking into that room felt more like entering battle than anything else! That’s why it was such a relief when I landed my first job. It was a little bit of an uphill battle from there, but I kept at it and before I knew it life as a model became second nature to me.”
