Moise was killed Wednesday in an operation that Haitian authorities say involved 28 people. The people were Colombians who work for a Florida-based security company and they were hired. One of the men who was arrested in Haiti worked for the US Drug Enforcement Administration as an informant.

The latest suspect detained in the search for the people who killed President Moise is a Haitian living in Florida. He says he’s a doctor and accuses leaders of his homeland of doing bad things. Police identified the man on Sunday night as Christian Emmanuel Sanon. Moise’s killers were protecting him as the President of Haiti.

A total of 26 Colombians are suspects in the assassination of the President. 18 have been arrested, and 3 are Haitians. Haitian authorities have said little about the investigation. However, it is clear that many people involved with the plot are from Florida. This likely means that some of the planning for this operation happened in the United States.

Haiti

Haiti is a country located in the Western hemisphere. Haiti has a population of over 10 million people. The capital of Haiti is Port-au-Prince and the official language is French Creole. Haiti shares its borders with the Dominican Republic, and has a claim to a small section of the Caribbean Sea. Haiti is geographically located in the Greater Antilles, part of the Lesser Antilles island chain.

Haiti’s infectious tropical diseases, health problems and the effects of poverty are challenges to development.

In the past, Haiti has ranked as having one of the lowest life expectancies in the Western Hemisphere. The country currently ranks 168th according to UNDP data. There are many reasons for this ranking but one of them is that healthcare facilities and personnel are insufficiently available in rural areas. Haiti also suffers from a severe lack of resources. It is very difficult for Haitians to get access to basic health services and obtain medications on their own.
