Overnight, shots were fired at a north Charlotte home, killing a young child.
Police said there are some indications that there was a shooting at other houses as well. Investigators have been walking the neighborhood and talking to neighbors.
According to a great-grandmother who lives at home, the child’s name is Asiah Fiqueroia, and he is only three years old.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the shooting happened just before midnight on Richard Rozzelle Drive. The police reported that unknown subjects fired more than 80 rounds into the home.
Investigators said multiple vehicles targeted the home. Around 11:30 p.m., law enforcement began to receive calls about the shooting.
As they arrived, police discovered the child had been shot. Upon arrival at the hospital, he died from his injuries.
